Did you know that for every three computing jobs available that there is only one person qualified? Computer Science is an exciting field with lots of opportunity! You can start your path toward a great career right now by taking a Computer Science course at Waukesha North!
I am very excited for the start of second semester! During this semester Waukesha North will offer three different computer science courses:
- Programming the Web 1
- Programming the Web 2
- Fundamentals of Programming
Programming the Web 1
In Programming the Web 1, students will learn about the basics of web design using HTML5 and CSS3. Students will have the opportunity to learn to code through a text-based program and the industry standard program, "Dreamweaver". Students will learn how to add text, pictures and links to a web page. Students will also learn how to format their pages using CSS. This course is offered in partnership with WCTC. Students who enroll in this course have the opportunity to earn credit through North and through WCTC.
Programming the Web 2
In Programming the Web 2, students will extend their knowledge from the first course. Students will take a look at some advanced web design techniques. Students will also learn how to add interactive portions to their page with JavaScript. Additionally, students will learn how to create animations with Flash.
Fundamentals of Programming
In Fundamentals of Programming we will look at the building blocks of computer programming. Students will create a programming portfolio through Google Sites. Students will then post all of their programming projects on their site. The semester will start with students creating Apps that are compatible with the Android operating system.
I look forward to a wonderful semester! Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm here to help!
