What's Going On? September 17th through September 21st

App Development

This week in App Development, we will start off with a "Variables Challenge" assignment.  For this
assignment, students will work with an existing code file and add additional commands to make text appear in labels.  Once this work with variable practice is complete, students will begin work on our first end of unit app challenge, "Hello World".  For this assignment, students will demonstrate their knowledge of labels, buttons, and variables as well as investigate a few new features.





AP Computer Science

Now that we have completed our first unit, it is time to start expanding our knowledge of Java.
During this week, we will learn about the relationship between classes and objects as well as start working with variables.  Students will have several reading assignments this week to complete chapter 2, as well as a guided notes template.  In class, students will work on several small programming projects to get familiar with Java variable syntax and how we are able to use classes, objects, and methods.



Programming the Web 1

This week we will be finishing up lesson 2 and beginning lesson 3.  We will start Monday's class with about how to create lists, quotes, and much more.  Students should read chapter 5 and complete the accompanying reading guide by Thursday.  We will have our 10 multiple choice question assessment on Friday.  Students will also have three web pages to complete in order to practice our new skills.
